From April 2015, all patients must have a “named” GP within the practice. This GP has the overall responsibility for your care at the practice.
At Cowley Road Medical Practice, we register patients with the practice as a whole and you can see any of our doctors that you wish. However, one doctor has the overall responsibility and this is your “named” GP. We allocate these “named” GPs alphabetically, according to the family name of the patient.
Following this initial allocation, your named GP may have been changed if you regularly see one particular doctor. You are also welcome to ask if you would like to have your named GP changed.
Ask at reception if you want to check who your named GP is, and/or if you would like to have this changed.
